    Case Scenario #5
You are a BCBA working for a private agency. Your client, Tiffany, is a 10-year-old female with a diagnosis of fetal alcohol spectrum disorder. Your current treatment plan includes procedures for improving compliance with adult-directed demands, performance with mathematics, social interaction skills, and fine motor tasks such as such as screwing a bottle cap on and off and using scissors to cut strips of paper. Due to Tiffany’s difficulty making friends and cooperating with peers during play, her speech-language pathologist, Cynthia, has proposed a treatment.
Cynthia explains, “In addition to our regular therapy sessions I’d like Tiffany to enroll in an afternoon social skills program with 3 other children learning social communication. The children in the group are learning to describe situations from their own perspective and the perspective of others. We use scripts of hypothetical social situations. I read a brief paragraph introducing the situation and the children role play the scripts. The children assume various roles in the scripts including the role of child and adult. I provide them with a checklist to guide their thinking and participation in the role play. The checklist consists of these 4 cards and corresponding questions to help them make statements about others’ perspectives.

-Go to the link below and read the article, “Should Parents Post Photos of Their Children on Social Media.”
-After having carefully considered both sides of the issue, form a thesis statement which answers the question: Should parents post photos of their children on social media?
-This week we are going to bring in quotations from the article itself to support our thesis statement (you may also bring in other sources you research to support your thesis statement). Make sure to include your in-text citations as well as a Works Cited page in MLA format (see Week 5 for MLA citation resources).

    Journal #1
In this first journal activity, you may write about any topic(s) of your choice, but it is best to use the textbook to study.
For this activity, topics should address content covered in Chapters 1 – 8 in the textbook.
It is expected that, at a minimum, you are reading the assigned textbook chapters.
You are encouraged to read collateral historical writings on topics covered in the textbook.
This activity will consist of 10 separate journal entries; you will have a total of 20 entries by the end of the course.
    Each separate entry should:
Be titled as Entry 1, Entry 2, Entry 3, etc.
Contain a minimum of 120 words.
Consist of a summary, paraphrase, and synthesis of material you are reading/studying in this course.
    Be written in
    your own words
    – do not quote the work of others verbatim.
Discuss the subject matter that you are studying – do not simply agree/disagree.
Your study involves, first and foremost, learning the nation’s past; doing so requires a review of previously published studies, so you are encouraged to conduct research using outside

The core assignment of this course is a documented research paper (1500-2000 words in length, approx. 6-8 pages double-spaced, 12-point font).
The paper should support a thesis statement with information gained from research or investigation.
The paper will not be just a report presenting information but will be a paper that carefully examines and presents your own historical interpretation of the topic you have chosen and your interpretation of the information you have gathered.
The paper may include consideration of problems and solutions, definition of key terms, or may refute arguments against your thesis statement.

Watch the movie Mrs. Doubtfire, which is widely available on many streaming apps, as well as the various other channels (HBO, Movie Channel, etc). Then, write an essay addressing the following:
Discuss as many topics as you can spot in this movie that we have addressed in this course (e.g., an obvious one, divorce). There are several topics covered in this movie, even subtle ones, that can and should be addressed. In discussing these topics, I want to see a comprehensive discussion about the topic in general, including definitions where applicable. You can, and I encourage you, to compare what happened in that movie to what you learned in this course. You could include statistics (e.g.,what percent of couples divorce in your particular state, or the US, over a period of time; or the percentage of mothers who pay support to fathers), compare states, discuss types of divorce, etc. Be creative, but make sure you issue/topic spot. I would say at a minimum there are 4 topics that must be discussed. Also, think about how things might be different today if they Doubtfire’s got divorced now instead of in 1993. Would the result be different? While this movie is a comedy, there are serious undertones here.
Your paper should be at least 750 words (but likely more), double spaced, times new roman, 12 pt font. Please make sure it is professionally written. You have 2 weeks to write it so it should be very well written and comprehensive. DO NOT FORGET CITATIONS TO YOUR TEXTBOOK AND ANY OTHER SOURCES YOU UTILIZE
