The MTF dataset is for tenth-grade students specifically,
so you will need to make sure that the 2013 YRBS data has only tenth graders
selected as well. To do this, go to “data->select cases->if” and enter
“grade=2” into the field. After this is done, we’ll look into answering our
questions:
1. First, tabulate the YRBS variables qn33 and qn43, and the
MTF variables past30cigs and past30drink.
2. Do these two datasets agree on the incidence rates of
drinking and smoking? If not, can you think of any reasons they wouldn’t agree?
