In this modern world, who doesn’t want to look beautiful? It is very much obvious that every girl wants to look beautiful in their own way. But how can they make them look beautiful? Girls’ uses various types’ makeups in order to make them look prettier and today the use of this makeup has become crucial for girls of all ages whether he or she is a job holder, a news reporter or a student. Makeup has become an important part of dressing in everyday life. Girls should wear makeup as it will make them feel more confident and beautiful.
First of all, makeup can make girls feel more confident. Putting on makeup gives a sense of confidence which helps ladies to improve their way of doing of work. If girls wear makeup then the level of confidence that they will get will help them do better in their everyday life and they can always be ready for taking new challenges. Girls who wear makeup are more optimistic and ready to face the day. This increased sense of control is essential for a girl to have the good outlook she want when she go out into the world (Deluxe, 2018).
Secondly, makeup can make girls look more attractive. Looking attractive is very much important for girls, especially if they are doing job. According to the Roman playwright Plautus (2015), “a woman without paint is like food without salt” (para 1). No matter how a girl looks like, makeup can definitely make her good looking, which can also give her some sort of privileges in her workplace or anywhere. Although it is obvious that wearing makeup will not make every girl look like magazine stars, but still they can see their better versions of themselves (Rydzewski, 2016, para 3).
Now, some people think that ladies put on makeup only to impress men. The cost of buying makeups is simply waste of money. However, this is not true. Women who wear makeup in the office and in public are viewed differently than women who don’t because they seem to “take care of themselves,” according to research (Haparimwi, 2016). Wearing makeup boosts up one’s self confidence, which is very much important in today’s world. Furthermore, the wearing of makeup is not only about to impress most of the men because men do not understand the differences in makeup.

Below are four topics based on the excerpt from John Berger’s Ways of Seeing. Choose ONLY ONE of the topics. Be certain to read the topic carefully and be certain that your essay fully addresses all aspects.1. Berger writes that publicity images/advertisements “never speak of the present. Often they refer to the past and always they speak of the future” (130). For this topic, you will need to select at least three advertisements and analyze them in terms of Berger’s statement. In other others, do the ads you have selected speak of the present or not, do they refer to the past or not, and do they speak of the future or not? For each ad, you must give a detailed description of it and then analyze it carefully in terms of the above questions. For instance, if you state that an ad speaks of the future, how exactly does it do so?2. Berger writes that publicity images/advertisements are “about social relations, not objects. Its promise is not of pleasure, but of happiness: happiness as judged fromthe outside by others” (132). For this topic, you will need to select at least three advertisements and analyze them in terms of Berger’s statement. In other words, are the ads about social relations and do they show a “happiness as judged from the outsideby others” (132)? For each ad, you must give a detailed description of it and then analyze it carefully in terms of the above questions. For instance, if you state that an ad is not about social relations, explain exactly why it is not?3. Berger briefly alludes to how publicity images/advertisements often make use ofgender stereotypes. For this topic, you will need to select at least three advertisements and analyze them in terms of gender. However, there are multiple approaches you can take here: (1) you can focus on how the ads rely upon stereotypes of women OR (2) you can focus on how the ads rely upon stereotypes of men, OR (3) you can compare and/or contrast how ads pitch differently based on the sex/gender of the targeted audience. For instance, do automobile ads featuring women emphasize different aspects from automobile ads featuring men? For each ad, you must give a detailed description of it and then analyze it in terms of which approach you have selected.4. You may select your own topic based on John Berger’s excerpt. In other words, is there another aspect of Berger’s essay that interests you that you wish to explore further. If you choose to create your own topic, you need to get approval from me before you begin.
