! I love how you mentioned including parents in the decision making. I believe this is a great way to discover and meet the needs of students and their families. Teachers can also learn and develop new teaching strategies through receiving input from student’s families. What are some strategies you will use in including parents in making decisions? I agree it is difficult to teach and for students to learn if their needs are not met. One thing I am grateful for with the outcome of Covid is that our school now provides free breakfast and lunch to all students. I hope this continues. I love how you mentioned showing appreciation to families for their efforts. This is so important for building relationships and encouraging involvement. In what ways do you plan to show appreciation to parents? Min 40 words or more

Building a collaborative relationship with student’s families is an essential component of creating a beneficial education for students. When parents/ guardians are on the same page and have a trusting relationship it positively affects students. One strategy to build a cooperative relationship with student’s families is to send out monthly updates. These updates can include an outline of what students will be learning that month, important dates to remember for the month, and anything new going on in the classroom. Keeping families updated on students’ day-to-day lives in the classroom will allow them to feel confident and trust in teachers. Another strategy to strengthen relationships is to have a form of communication that is easily accessible like apps including Remind and Class Dojo. These kinds of apps allow instant communication for questions and updates and allow teachers and families to share pictures or information outside of the classroom as well. A third strategy to implement to improve parent/ teacher relationships is to allow parents to volunteer in the classroom for short periods. When parents volunteer they get to feel a part of their child’s education and see them in the classroom environment. Comment as you see fit. Min 40 words or more

First, I would develop a two-way communication wth myslf and the parents. Ask te parent whats a goos way to communicate with them or have the parents fill out an survey with a list of communication that I will use. For example, email, teaxt message, group me , class dojo and reminder app. I also use SeeSaw where all the students work and activities are found and completed, this allows the parents to comment and communicate with the teacher. Next, host a family night that consist of some line dancing , reading area where the students can read to the parents and show their reading skills and techniques, an art area and they can read and paint in the art area. The family night will get the paernts involved with the childs education and allow the teacher an opportunity to connect with the child and the family. Third, encourage the parents to volunteer in the classroom which will help improve the childs education and the can see the learning techniques in the classroom that parents can use at home as well and continue to encourage the parents to stay involved with their child education.Give the parents some resources that will help them and the child.
