Create a communication strategy to obtain and share information about community services and resources. The strategy is to ensure that there are processes in place to maintain current contact details of community services and resources and how it will assist families to locate and contact and/or access community services and resources as required. A communication method is to be presented that shows how the information is made available to families. This could be in a form of a power point that runs in the reception area of the centre on a loop or a poster or a flyer or any other suitable method.

Thank you, please provide all the information for this task once it is complete. You will also need to upload your log of completed hours.
    Project 1
    Research Report
The childhood education and care service you work for places a great deal of emphasis on the application of theoretical concepts that promote and provide for the holistic development and wellbeing of children. They are also proud of the fact that they make children feel like they belong because of the level of quality standards they have in place.
The service provider has asked you to develop a multi-page manual or booklet that details how such theoretical concepts can be effectively applied to nurturing the development of children in a variety of contexts and across varying age groups in a care centre as the benchmark for quality standards in the centre.
Each summary of holistic development and wellbeing of children principle and/or technique will also need to show how childhood education and care service providers are affected by and meet the requirements of the National Quality Framework (NQF) and the National Quality Standards (NQS) and the concepts of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).
For each approach/concept develop a learning activity that can be demonstrated for your workplace supervisor. Use a mix of individual and group interactions as appropriate to the technique being applied. Be prepared to answer questions in relation to your chosen methods and why you think they will work.
The research will cover these areas:
    physical
    social
    emotional
    cognitive
    communication
    For each area:
explain the current theories of development include a variety of sources and reference your work
identify what parents can expect to see as their children develop in each area (eg normal milestones/ stages of development)
outline what the organisation does to foster development in each area in children (be specific, you will need to provide examples of activities and strategies used such as:
discuss holistic development—what it is and how it is achieved
explain how the organisation helps children feel like they belong
Based on your research choose three (3) areas of development to use for your Project 2 demonstration tasks. Develop a mix of individual and group learning activities. Make sure your demonstrated tasks reflect the theory and concepts as explained in your research and be prepared to discuss these with your supervisor.

    1. Explain Locke’s view that we can have knowledge of an external world despite our being directly aware only of sense data. Do you agree with him, or do you side with his critics who say that we can know only the contents of our minds?
    2. Why does Berkeley deny the existence of material objects? Explain his view of subjective idealism. Do you accept or reject his theory? Why or why not?
    3. Suppose someone claims that he can easily refute Berkeley’s idealism by simply kicking a rock or eating an apple. Does this demonstration show that Berkeley’s view is false? Explain.
    4. Hume thinks that all knowledge must be traced back to perceptions; otherwise, assertions of knowledge are meaningless. From this, he concludes that all theological and metaphysical speculations are worthless. Do you agree with him? Why or why not?
    5. What does Kant mean by “Thoughts without content are empty, intuitions without concepts are blind?” Do you agree that at least some of your perceptions are conceptualized?

    Discussion Topic:
Obesity – What is Going On Here???
Here is a video on childhood obesity! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GC3BNPZQtk8
This week, we make the transition from adolescence into adulthood. As adults we are responsible for our own decisions. We choose many behaviors that either enhance or harm our health. This week the focus for our discussion will be on obesity – a problem that is plaguing our nation’s children, adolescents and adults. Before participating in the discussion read the following current article about obesity in the US.
    The World Is Fat
    By
    CATHERINE RAMPELL
Until 1980, fewer than one in 10 people in industrialized countries like the United States were obese.
Today, these rates have doubled or tripled. In almost half of developed countries, one out of every two people is overweight or obese. These populations are expected to get even heavier in the near future, and in some countries two out of three people are projected to be obese within 10 years.
Those are some of the disturbing statistics from a new report released today by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, a research and membership organization that focuses on the world’s richest nations.
As you can see, in rates of overweight and obese residents, the United States is second to only one industrialized country: Mexico. In America, 28 percent of the adult population is obese and 68 percent is overweight; in Mexico, the respective rates are 30 percent and 70 percent.
The United States does, however, hold the dubious honor of fattest population of children, tied with Scotland. (Note that the rates for children are not exactly comparable, though, as different countries report obesity and overweight rates for different age ranges of children).
If you would like to read more you can check out the full report from the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development at http://economix.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/09/23/the-world-is-fat/
When talking about obesity many will say that obesity is primarily genetic and the majority of those who obese cannot help it. However others argue that if the high levels of obesity were primarily caused by genetics then this should be a problem that has always existed. Yet as stated in the above article just 30 years ago there was a much smaller percentage of people who were obese.
    Discussion Question:
What is your perspective on the cause of obesity for the large majority of those who are facing this problem?
Whether you believe that the primary cause of obesity is genetics or lifestyle what has happened in our society since 1980 that has resulted in
doubled or tripled rates of obesity in adults and children?
What can be done in your own community to turn the obesity trend around? What kind of program might you create in this effort to bring health back
    to our society?
What advice would you give to a friend coping with a weight issue to help them bring about long term change?

It is important to distinguish between your perspective and other perspectives regarding your commentary topic. What are some of the other perspectives you see? Summarize them briefly.
Some believe that personal experiences shape one’s perspective significantly, leading to a more subjective view.
Others argue that societal influences and cultural background play a crucial role in forming perspectives.
There are also those who emphasize the importance of empirical evidence and logical reasoning in shaping a perspective.
Next, summarize your own perspective. In what ways does your perspective differ from other perspectives? Why is your perspective different?
My perspective is that while personal experiences and societal influences are important, critical thinking and open-mindedness are essential for a well-rounded view. This differs from others who may prioritize personal experience over analytical reasoning, as I believe that a balance between the two leads to a more informed perspective.
