    Assignment Prompt & Instructions

The roles of the Registered Nurse and the Advanced Practice Registered Nurse are closely connected because the foundation of nursing practice begins at the bedside. However, the responsibilities and authority between the two roles are very different. As an RN, the primary focus is on implementing and supporting the plan of care created by the provider, continuously monitoring the patient, recognizing changes in condition, and advocating for what the patient needs. When transitioning into the APRN role, you move into the position of the provider. APRNs perform comprehensive assessments, diagnose conditions, develop treatment plans, prescribe medications, and determine overall patient outcomes. This shift represents a major change in responsibility, moving from carrying out orders to creating and managing the entire plan of care.

In Florida, the scope of practice for both RNs and APRNs is outlined in the Nurse Practice Act and overseen by the Florida Board of Nursing. Florida law allows APRNs to manage patient care, prescribe medications, and order diagnostic testing under physician supervision unless the APRN has met criteria for autonomous practice (Florida Statutes, 2025). Regardless of practice arrangement, APRNs remain legally responsible for safe prescribing, accurate documentation, and ensuring appropriate follow-up. From an ethical perspective, APRNs must balance their autonomy with patient safety, weighing risks and benefits while also navigating between patient needs and regulatory limits (Bernard et al., 2025).

APRNs are vital during epidemics and in areas where access to care is limited, although their full potential is sometimes underused depending on state restrictions. Research shows that nurse practitioner care for patients with mental health conditions produces outcomes comparable to physician care while improving access, especially within underserved communities (Turi et al., 2023). In addition, studies in the Veterans Health Administration demonstrate that having APRNs as part of the healthcare team improves coordination of services and expands access for veterans with complex chronic illnesses (Rugs et al., 2021).

In addition to providing direct care, APRNs carry the ethical responsibility to advocate for vulnerable populations, promote access, and help shift the idea that healthcare must be exclusively physician-driven. At the same time, APRNs must practice within their legal scope to prevent harm to both patients and themselves. By speaking up, using evidence, and practicing safely, APRNs can contribute to a lasting change in healthcare delivery.

    Assignment Prompt & Instructions

In nursing practice, there are clear professional and legal differences between the Registered Nurse (RN) and the Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN). An RN in Florida provides direct patient care, conducts assessments, implements and evaluates care plans, administers medications, and promotes health and wellness based on orders from providers. However, RNs do not have the legal authority to make medical diagnoses, independently prescribe medications, or order diagnostic tests; they are responsible for nursing judgment within the scope of their license and must practice under supervisory Florida Statutes. Practicing outside of this legal scope can result in disciplinary action from the board of nursing, fines, or loss of licensure. In contrast, APRNs have advanced graduate education (MSN or DNP) and national certification that expands their scope of practice to include comprehensive assessments, diagnoses, treatment planning, ordering/interpreting diagnostics, and prescribing medications within legal limits. In Florida, APRNs must meet educational, certification, and practice requirements to obtain prescriptive authority and may be subject to collaborative practice agreements if they do not have an autonomous practice license or if they practice in a specialty that requires oversight by an MD or DO.

Legally and ethically, APRNs are expected to address societal health concerns such as epidemics, mental health needs, substance use disorders, and health disparities through evidence‑based, culturally competent care and advocacy. Advanced Practice Registered Nurses play a vital role in improving health equity and access, especially in underserved and vulnerable populations, by providing preventive services, health education, and treatment interventions aimed at reducing disparities in care and outcomes. Expanding access to APRN care for mental health and substance use disorders can help address workforce shortages and disparities in treatment access, according to a recent policy analysis. This is both an ethical requirement and part of APRNs' public health responsibilities. Also noteworthy, are the negative perceptions by other providers regarding the competency of the APRN to provide medical care. APRN's have a shared responsibility to practice within their scope and prescribe safely especially when it comes to opioids. It is the APRN's responsibility to know when to refer a patient to seek specialized care. When it comes to mental health and substance abuse there are limitations for Family Nurse Practitioners (FNP's). FNP's must recognize when patients need specialized care and collaborate with the specialists for the patient's safety and best interests.

In addition, APRNs have a professional and moral duty to push for changes at the system level that make it easier for people to get care, improve social determinants of health, and support public health initiatives. These changes should be based on beneficence, justice, and respect for patient autonomy. Evidence indicates that APRNs play a crucial role in promoting health equity by enhancing access to care, particularly in underserved regions, and by employing advanced assessment and treatment skills to facilitate holistic, patient-centered practice.

To prepare for a video interview with a business representative from I would start with the normal business etiquette, making sure I dress appropriately as if it were an in-person interview, making sure there are no distractions or interruptions during the allotted time slot from my own environment. As far as the actual interviews, brushing up on common Spanish phrases/words, and doing your research on the Spanish culture in Spain. As far as nonverbal communications, you can expect to see: direct eye contact (a sign of sincerity and engagement t in Spain) and animated body movements (hand gestures and facial expression to help with getting their point across). Like most corporate cultures, positive alignment with the culture of Spain can include: effective communication, emotional intelligence, adaptability, competence, and modesty.

As far as Argentina, it would be the same, but I'm sure that they more positively align with the openness of their culture. As for cyber trends in the next 5 years for Spain and Argentina, with the rise of AI, I can see a lot AI driven companies, limiting a lot of employment.

    Berkeley. “Cross-Cultural Communication | Berkeley Exec Ed.” _Executive.berkeley.edu_, 2024, executive.berkeley.edu/thought-leadership/blog/cross-cultural-communication.

    Post 2

To prepare for a video interview with a business representative from Spain, I would begin by researching the company’s background, leadership style, and regional business culture. Spain tends to value professionalism while also appreciating warmth and relationship-building. I would be prepared to maintain steady eye contact, smile naturally, and use moderate but expressive hand gestures, as communication in Spain can be slightly more animated than in some U.S. corporate settings. I would dress in professional business attire—likely a tailored blazer and neutral tones—to reflect respect and seriousness. Punctuality is important, but I would also allow space for conversational rapport, as Spanish business culture often blends professionalism with personal connection. I would emphasize teamwork, adaptability, and cross-cultural communication skills, highlighting my bilingual abilities as an asset for U.S. and European markets. One cyber future trend I anticipate in Spain over the next five years is accelerated growth in digital public services and cybersecurity investment, particularly as the country continues strengthening its role within the European Union’s digital strategy initiatives.

For Argentina, I would similarly research the company and current economic and technological landscape. Argentine business culture often values strong interpersonal relationships and authenticity. Nonverbal communication may include expressive facial cues and engaged body language. I would maintain eye contact and demonstrate enthusiasm while remaining respectful. Professional attire would still be important, though a slightly less rigid tone may be appropriate depending on the company culture. I would emphasize flexibility, resilience, and experience navigating dynamic environments—qualities highly valued in Argentina’s evolving economic climate. Highlighting cultural sensitivity and clear communication would also be important. A likely cyber trend in Argentina over the next five years is continued growth in fintech and digital payment platforms, as the country increasingly adopts technology-driven financial solutions in response to economic fluctuations.

**Rafael Docarmo (respond no more than 100 word)**

One legal and ethical operational risk I see as especially compelling for businesses today is the unchecked use of artificial intelligence without adequate internal controls or human accountability. As organizations adopt AI to improve efficiency, decision speed, and scale, the risk is not the technology itself, but leadership treating AI as a substitute for judgment rather than a tool that still requires oversight. When controls fail, AI can amplify bias, violate privacy laws, and expose businesses to regulatory and civil liability.

A practical example of this risk is the use of AI systems in employee evaluations, hiring decisions, or workforce optimization. If an AI tool is trained on flawed historical data or deployed without transparency, it can unintentionally discriminate against protected classes or make decisions that cannot be clearly explained or defended. From a legal standpoint, this exposes the organization to employment discrimination claims and regulatory scrutiny. Ethically, it erodes trust by removing fairness and accountability from decisions that directly affect people’s livelihoods.

A best practice to mitigate this risk is the implementation of a structured AI governance model that mirrors traditional internal control frameworks. This includes clearly defining where AI may be used, establishing approval and review processes, requiring human-in-the-loop decision-making for high-impact outcomes, and documenting how AI-generated recommendations are evaluated before action is taken. AI should support leadership does not operate independently of it.

To implement this practice, leadership should treat AI systems the same way they treat other mission-critical processes. Before deployment, organizations should conduct risk assessments that evaluate data integrity, bias potential, legal exposure, and cybersecurity vulnerabilities. Once operational, periodic audits should be conducted to ensure outputs remain compliant and ethical. Employees using AI tools must also be trained to understand their limitations and to recognize when escalation to human decision-makers is required. Most importantly, accountability must remain clearly assigned AI does not make decisions; leaders do.

In today’s business environment, the failure to govern AI properly is not just a technical issue—it is a leadership failure. Businesses that proactively establish strong oversight and ethical guardrails will be better positioned to leverage AI’s benefits while avoiding the operational, legal, and reputational damage that comes from uncontrolled automation.

The misuse of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is an operational risk that I see to be a compelling concern for a business today. As the use of AI continues to grow at a rapid pace, there will be a race to create policies, procedures, regulations, and oversight for its use. AI is able to help improve productivity, hiring processes, and managing daily operations. However, there are concerns with the use of AI such as privacy concerns and bias which can have ethical and legal risks. Examples of privacy concerns, such as excessively monitoring employees, collecting personal data without consent, and improper handling of healthcare information can create ethical and legal concerns. Bias from the use of AI can cause legal concerns such as discrimination.

The best practice to mitigate the risk of privacy concerns and bias is to maintain compliance regarding practices related to AI and to make sure that the business is up to date with all requirements. According to GRC Report (2025), failure to comply with and address emerging legal frameworks can result in sanctions, fines, and eroding public trust. Having clear policies and strong oversight can reduce risk of AI misuse. Not only does this help with compliance, but it also makes sure that the company is fair and transparent.

To implement this practice, I would recommend implementing an operational risk management team. The team can identify, assess, and mitigate the risks that are associated with AI (Redcliffe Training, 2024). The team can leverage technology to assist in implementation, such as automated compliance checks and using data analytics to manage risks (Redcliffe Training, 2024

    **Company Context**

**TTEC Holdings, Inc.** is a global innovator in AI-enabled customer experience (CX) technology and services. Operating in over 20 countries with approximately 60,000 employees, the company provides both the digital infrastructure (TTEC Digital) and the human workforce (TTEC Engage) to handle complex customer interactions for clients in healthcare, financial services, and retail.

    **Implementation of Dublin-10: Planning Concerns**

Beyond the ROI and retraining, a critical management concern for TTEC is
**maintaining the "Humanity-First" culture** during the transition to AI.As CEO, my primary planning action involves
**Strategic Role Redesign**. While Dublin-10 will automate routine "tier-1" inquiries (like balance checks or password resets), we must plan for the increased complexity of the remaining human-led work.

    ·
    **Action:** I will implement a
**"Complexity Pay Grade"** system. As AI handles the mundane, our human associates will handle more emotionally charged and complex problem-solving. This requires planning not just for training, but for a fundamental shift in our Performance KPIs—moving away from "Average Handle Time" (speed) toward "Sentiment Analysis" and "Empathy Scores."

    Professor and Classmates,

I chose to create FRESHMART Grocery for this weeks discussion. It is a small to mid-size grocery chain with 85 stores across the Midwest. I chose to create a video using PowerPoint and Adobe Premier. While you never see me, the voice is all mine. I have to admit it is a little long winded. It is actually a little over 4 minutes. There was just so much to cover I couldn't think what needed to be cut. I look forward to hearing from you.
