Your research essay must be persuasive, meaning you must have a thesis. In other words, what is your position on the topic? It is not to be only informative.
Most students’ main difficulty with MLA format is its exactness. You must use your handbook to be sure that your citations are done correctly. Purdue OWL is another source.
This document must be typed (12-point Times New Roman font), double-spaced, with a correctly formatted MLA Works Cited Page.
The document (not including the Works Cited Page) should be between 3 pages.
The document should be grammatically correct, free of errors in mechanics, grammar, usage, spelling, and documentation, and will be evaluated according to the Model for Evaluation of Student Writing on the next page.
Choose 3-5 sources that show differing perspectives on your topic. . Do not use the Internet.
