Task 2: Case Scenario Reflection task using Gibbs 6 Stage Reflection Cycle
(adapted version by Burns and Bulman, 2000)
    in an essay style (35%)
    Case Scenario Recording:
    ‘The Age 75 Recording’
Two Topics of Focus for this case scenario:
    1. ‘
Preventing falls and harm from falls’
    2. ‘
    My health record
    ’ (e-health record)
    Background Information
Reflection is a way of thinking and working for Registered Nurses and is useful in raising our conscious awareness of aspects of care that may be hidden from our view. This raised awareness about these aspects of care improves our understanding as nurses and assist us in directing action strategies that can improve both the patient and their family’s experience and the ‘partnering in care’ strategies that we utilise. Improving the ‘patient care experience and partnering in care’ and using Gibbs 6 Stage Reflection Cycle (adapted version by Burns and Bulman 2000) as a framework in combination with drawing upon relevant theory provides a foundation for nurses to operate from and as such is required for Task 2.
    Instructions:
View the Case Scenario – Recording ‘The Age 75 Recording’
This Recording is located at the top of this study desk page within the white ribbon, under useful links: course recordings
After viewing the ‘patient experience and partnering in care’
case scenario recording – ‘The Age 75
Patient Experience and Partnering in Care’, write a 1500-word reflection using
Gibbs 6 Stage Reflection Cycle (adapted version by Burns and Bulman, 2000) as the framework
    , in an
    essay style
    .
Within your reflection aim to draw upon relevant literature/theory to help you analyse this patient experience with the goal to improve the care experience of patients and their families.
Drawing upon relevant literature (theory) will support and strengthen your reflection.

For this assessment item, you may choose from the following options.
    1. Manual Writing, or
    2. Web Writing, or
    3. Speech Writing.
For each option, the word count is 1800–2000 words.
This assessment item is worth 30% of your final grade.
    1. Manual
You may choose one of the two options below.
    (a) A revised version of an existing manual that you believe is inadequate, or
    (b) A new manual for a process or device (the device may be fictional if you wish).
If you elect to do Option (a), you should locate a manual or set of instructions that you believe needs to be revised.
Re-write the manual (or a portion of it, depending on the length of the original) in line with the guidelines and principles supplied in lectures and the associated recommended reading and/or your research.
You must include a commentary/critique of the original manual or instructions with your revised version to explain why you thought the original was deficient, and to outline the changes that you have made. The combined word count for revised manual and the commentary should be in the 1800–2000 word range. There is no set length for the commentary, but you will need enough words to explain your decisions, so allow somewhere between 800–1000 words for the commentary.
You may include some visuals with your revised manual or instructions. Note that the quality of the visuals is not assessable (i.e., there is no penalty for those who cannot draw).
If you choose Option (b), you should devise a manual for a process or device. The process may be anything that requires a set of instructions (previous students have written manuals on dog training and care, how to set up a room for a meeting or

    Purpose:
This unit aims to give you an opportunity to combine many facets of your acquired MBA skills into the production of a high-quality research report.
Assignment 3 – the Research Design and Methodology – is to ensure each student is able to contribute to the construction of a written report demonstrating their understanding of the business research paradigm, appropriate methodology, data collection, analysis and interpretation.
You will ideally work in a group of up to 3 persons. Your respective contributions will be governed by your Team Charter, which you produced at the same time as your Topic Approval submission. Additionally, you are required to append to this report a statement indicating ‘who wrote which sections’.
This assessment builds upon your Literature Review (assessment 2) in that you are now aware of what additional data is needed to lead you to the answer to your research question(s) (as defined in Topic Approval (assessment 1). To discover the required data may require you to search for additional secondary data, and will most probably also require the collection of primary data, by applying qualitative or quantitative methods. In this assessment you will document what your team has decided as the most appropriate way forward. If you choose a quantitative approach, you will go ahead and state your hypothesis, how you intend to verify it, what data you need, how it can be collected and analysed. [Note that you are NOT required to actually obtain primary data]. If you choose a qualitative approach, you will go ahead and decide which method is appropriate, how you would design the questionnaire (include a few example questions), and state how you would collate and interpret your data. [Note that you are NOT required to actually obtain primary data].

  • Who is your favorite story teller? What do they do to make their stories so good?…

    Do the following two exercises.
    • Who is your favorite story teller? What do they do to make their stories so good? Think hard about this. What types of words do they use? How do they keep your interest? How do they use their body to add emphasis to their stories? Think about the material and advice in Chapter 10. especially the authors’ ideas about effective language use.’
    • Watch the following speeches and keep your ears peeled for the techniques they use to get as much out of language as possible. Think about the techniques described in the book. Look/Listen for alliteration, repetition. simile and metaphor, parallelism or antithesis. Share specific examples and explain what, in your opinion. makes them effective or ineffective. Why do you think the speaker used them—and why did the speaker choose to use them in the specific place he used them? If you can’t find any of the things defined and explained in the text. what did the speaker do to keep the audience’s attention and make the message stick? How did they call attention to or highlight the main points?
Note: Do not focus on the ideological content of the speech. We’re here to talk about the use of language enhancing devices that you will use in Speech 2. not the pros and cons of politicians from the early 1980s.

    CS143 – Lab 1
    Sorted Set
    Introduction
A set is an unordered collection of data that contains no duplicates. A sorted list is an ordered collection
of data that is always sorted using the elements’ natural order. A sorted set is a combination of the
above two ADTs having the following attributes:
    • The collection is ordered, meaning it maintains the relative order of the elements, and
elements can be accessed by position.
    • The collection is sorted, meaning that the order in which the elements are placed is based on a
comparison of the relative value of adjacent elements.
    • The elements of the collection are all unique, meaning that no duplicates can be added.
A sorted set contains the following functions:
    • add(value) – adds the value to the properly sorted place in the collection and returns the index
where it was added, or returns -1 if not added.
    • remove(value) – deletes the value from the collection and returns true if successful, false if not.
    • find(value) – reports the current index of a value in the collection, or -1 if not found.
    • get(index) – returns the value at the given index
    • size() – returns the number of elements currently stored in the collection.
    Lab Overview
In the Lab 1 module you are given a NetBeans project that contains the following classes:
    • A domain class called Player that represents a single player of an online game and their
personal high score. The class implements Comparable in order to help sort players from
highest score to lowest. It also contains an equals method based on player names to help
prevent duplicate players from being added.
    • A data-management class called SortedSet that models the sorted set ADT described above.
(This class currently contains only stubs of methods.)
    • A main class called Lab1 used to test the SortedSet.
Your job is to complete the SortedSet class. The following requirements and limitations apply:
    • You must use a partially-filled array of Player objects as your underlying data storage.
    • You must double the size of the array whenever it becomes too full to add another player, but
    not before then.
    • You may not use any methods in the Array, Arrays, or System classes to aid in array handling or
convert the array to another type of collection. Instead, write the necessary code based on
simple selection and repetition structures and good computer science logic.
    • You must implement the variation of the insertion sort described in the lectures when adding a
value, as this is a very efficient algorithm when adding a single value to an already sorted list.
