Audience demographics are extremely important. Demographics include age, gender, religion, education, occupation and many more categories. Demographics define each individual audience member’s identity. Politicians are often mindful of their audiences’ demographics to create speeches that are relevant to them. Audience analysis is significant because if a speaker considers her audience, the speech will be more impactful. It’s important to create a speech for an audience and not to pander. If audience analysis is overused, the speaker is basically just telling the audience what they want to hear. Instead of pandering or “grandstanding,” audience analysis is adapting a speech’s style and content for a specific audience. A speaker should consider her audience’s expectations of what the speech will be. Often is the speech doesn’t meet the audience’s expectants, it will have a negative impact. Sometimes not meeting the audience’s expectations can be positive. For example, when presenters for awards shows make political statements. For the 2020 Golden Globes, Jennifer Aniston made a political statement about Australia’s wildfires. This was effective because it was not what the audience was expecting. It’s also really important to comprehend what the audience already knows about the topic. Sometimes the presenter will briefly go over key terms and concepts before the speech. This ensures that the audience will understand the speech without being condescending. The audience’s attitude about the speech’s topic is critical. There are a lot of cases where it’s the speaker’s job to sway the audience’s opinion. Then the speaker will spend her speech trying to convince the audience. Audience analysis is essential to making the most effective speech possible.

    Overview
Although you can do Action Research in your classroom with little to no expense, most educational research requires resources. There are hundreds of small foundations and dozens of government and corporate institutions that will fund education research. The trick is to find the institution or foundation that will fund the research that you want to do. In this activity, you will learn about some of the sources of funding for educational research, and write a letter of interest to a foundation exploring their interest in funding your research.
    Performance outcomes
Candidates explore sources of funding for education research and write a letter of interest to a Program Officer at one foundation.
    What will you do?
Explore the resource: 100 Places to Find Funding for your Research in the Resources.
Locate a grant program that is appropriate for the research you are doing for your Capstone Project (you can search other resources beyond 100 Places to Find Funding for your Research).
Write a letter of interest to a Program Officer at the funding agency that sponsors the grant program briefly describing your research, the level of funding that you will need for your research, and the types of expenses you will incur. (Many grant programs will give you a format for such a letter of interest)
Submit the letter along with the URL of the grant program.
    Report requirements
Letter of Interest to a Program Officer at a funding agency
    URL of the grant program
    Notes
The grant program will likely have rules about what they will fund — pay attention to those. Expenses could include things such as travel, incentives for research participants, supplies, access to data (e.g. large database), payment for data processing or analysis, etc.

    Corrections Reform Policy
The purpose of corrections is a hotly debated issue: is the role of corrections to punish offenders or rehabilitate people? When an offender reenters society, should he or she be provided assistance to integrate or should they be left to their own devices? There is no easy answer to these questions, and every criminal justice system, jurisdiction, and community needs to analyze and develop a policy of their own.
    To Prepare:
    · Review the correctional theories located in the Learning Resources.
    · Using the National Institute of Justice website, research and identify one reentry program. Then, identify one program from another country, from a credible resource (they can be shown to be effective or ineffective).
For this Assignment, you will assess the importance of reentry programs to reduce recidivism.
Using the Walden Writing Center PowerPoint Presentation Template, create a
